One more video. This is an "experiment" by Dove, in which people describe themselves to an artist who has never met them. Later, a different person describes them to the artist. The results are truly inspirational.
This video truly shows how self esteem does relate to happiness. How the individuals described themselves often portrayed a sadder and not as attractive view of themselves. Later those who were sketched viewed how others saw them and were automatically happier realizing that they are too harsh on themselves.
It's really shocking to see how hard people are on themselves, but it is also reassuring to see that our peers are more encouraging of us than we are. When the people were asked to describe themselves, they often said negative things, but when other people were asked to describe the same person, they made many positive comments. This is a really powerful and inspirational video.
I found this talk to be very thought provoking! These idea of "oneness", "separation" and "the self" are ones that are very interesting to me. I agree that the awareness of such ideas are essential to happiness.
This video was incredible. It's amazing how differently a person can see him/herself from the way the world sees them. I know a lot of people who's spirits would be lifted by reading your paper.
OH MY GOODNESS I LOVE THIS VIDEO!!! It seems like such a Fontbonne-y thing to do. It's crazy to see how hard people can be on themselves. This truly sows how the littlest things can do wonders for a person's self-esteem. This is awesome, Haley. Good job!
This is amazing! I agree that that many people are extremely unhappy due to low self-esteem. This is a very important issue that needs to be addressed! Good work!!
Great job on your research Haley! I really like that you chose this topic because, unfortunately, I think self-esteem is one of the greatest struggles facing women. Appearance, or body image, I think is the most prominent. This is the first time I've seen this video but it was truly eye-opening. It shows really how our view of ourselves can make us unhappy or discontent with who we are.
This video is amazing. I love dove and the message they try and spread about woman being beautiful in their own skin. This really hits home for me because being a girl, I struggle with my self image and this video was very empowering for me.
I do believe that self esteem has to do with happiness one hundred present. How can you enjoy anything when you don't feel good about yourself. I know when i have had rough patched about myself i really did not find joy in anything. your argument solidified what i already believed great job!
It's amazing how different the sketches are from each other.
